From the pastor

Welcome to Hope Mennonite Church. We hope this site is a helpful glimpse of who we are and what we’re about: followers of Jesus seeking to serve our community and the world in love.

As our mission states, as an Anabaptist community of faith empowered by the Holy Spirit, Hope Mennonite Church is calling and making disciples who bring Christ's love and peace to our world.

Come, join us for worship some Sunday. You’ll find a warm and friendly congregation.

I grew up in Southern California about an hour north of Los Angeles.  I previously served as associate professor of Bible and Religion at Bethel College in North Newton, KS.

I’m married to my best friend, Esther Calderon.  Together we have been blessed with four daughters and we’re doing our best to raise them to “do justice”, “love kindness”, and “walk humbly” with God.
